Jayci Lillian Darrington

Our friends Krissy and Layne lost there sweet baby girl in a drowning accident last week.  Words can not express the emotions and feelings that have been going through our home.  The night we found out we said a family prayer that they would find Jayci.  We told Luke that a baby like Matthew had got lost and we were going to say a prayer for her. After the prayer he looked at me and said, "Mom, my feelings are sad." Are hearts were broken for this sweet family. The effect that her death has had on our family has been unbelievable. While Jeff was reading the obituary Luke asked him if that was the girl that was lost.  He knew before Jeff said anything that it was Jayci. He said, "That's the baby that they found and now she's with Jesus, huh dad.  He has picked up on our conversation's without us knowing.  His sweet little testimony healed a little piece of me.  Every time Matthew gave me one of his cheesy grins or made me laugh, I felt guilty.  Why do I get to keep my baby, but she doesn't?  Every time Matthew and Luke would play and wrestle together, again my heart would break, and I couldn't understand why this had to happen. Why?  It's not fair.  I don't understand why something like this had to happen.  How could God let this happen?  I really struggled with this for the next few days.  Seeing the strength Krissy and Layne have had through his whole ordeal has been amazing and seeing how close to the Lord they are.   All of this has strengthened my testimony of our Savior Jesus Christ.  We have gained  new respect for Krissy and Layne. The death of this sweet baby girl has broken us, healed us, and made us that much stronger. Our hearts go out to all those who are suffering.  Know that you are in our hearts and our prayers.
